No wind this
morning (I am talking weather by the way), but the rain was visiting once
again. A lack of sleep (Jesse insisting of sleeping right on top of me!!) so
was yawning all the way to the arch. Not a full house, but a decent crowd; Leo
(been a while), Shoichi, Damien, Big Bob, Mike, David ,
Sean, Flick & Charlotte . Bob and I headed off around the pier
anticlockwise, whilst Damien, Leo and Shoichi headed off clockwise. With the tide dragging to the West it meant
that Bob and I were swimming against the tide all the way around until we got
back to the steps and then we wooshed under the pier with the tide helping us
all the way home. The swim at the start
was hard and the tide made us feel like we were swimming through mud;
especially as we headed around the head of the pier; a real challenging
swim. The sea temperature was up a bit
to around 8.6 degrees, but that is still pretty cold. The total time in the sea was 30 minutes,
which is probably the longest we’ve done this year.
This
afternoon after work I’m at the gym for an hour, then tomorrow will be back to
the beach in the morning and then an exhausting 2 hr (two hours!) with Bob at
Falmer from 8.30pm – 10.30pm – something to not look forward to. Fiona may join us for the pool swim, so even
though the 2 hrs swimming sounds unattractive to me,
being with Bob and Fiona lifts the spirits.
